WaterBear launches new LGBTQ+ documentary – Together We Dance

WaterBear, a free streaming platform dedicated to the future of our planet, has released a new original documentary Together We Dance.

Together We Dance follows the story of Jonathan Prestney and his local LGBTQ+ community in Colchester, as they turn to dance to help them through their darkest days during the pandemic.

Currently, LGBTQ+ youths are twice as likely to contemplate suicide, with recent lockdowns only exaggerating the mental health crisis in the community.

Jonathan experienced the loss of multiple friends due to suicide. It was during these darkest days he turned to the thing he loves the most, dancing. Setting up a dance school in Colchester for professional and amateur dancers, Jonathan shared this form of therapy with the wider LGBTQ+ community through the pandemic.

Together We Dance is available to stream for free online, in addition to a special screening on the July 3, at Kings Cross Coal Drops Yard as part of the Everyman Summer Love series.
