A taste of Joy

Brighton-based feminist film director, producer, author and photographer Petra Joy’s film A Taste of Joy has been awarded the Porna Award 2013 from an all-female panel of judges from Dutch TV channel Dusk!.

As one of the pioneers of the movement to make pornography for women, the German born director has created the film to focus on female pleasure and celebrate authentic lust with fresh performers turning existing porn stereotypes. There is no boring dialogue or pump and grind sex but just beautifully shot sensual images, edited to music.

The panel consisted of over 2,000 women representing Dusk!, which is the first and only adult TV channel for a female audience.

Scene was founded in Brighton in 1993, at a time when news stories about Pride protests were considered radical.

Since then, Scene has remained proudly independent, building a platform for queer voices. Every subscription helps us to report on the stories that matter to LGBTQ+ people across the UK and beyond.
