Vivian Jenna Wilson has praised fellow trans models Hunter Schafer and Alex Consani as "trans excellence" while reflecting on her own growing career in fashion during a wide-ranging appearance on the podcast Delulu with Ryan Lu.
The model and cultural commentator said she regularly receives comparisons to the pair and welcomed the association. "I get compared to Hunter and Alex a lot. I don't mind it," Wilson said. "They're both amazing. They're both trans excellence."
The interview saw Wilson discuss her rapid rise to fame, her evolving relationship with modelling and runway work, and the importance of carving out a career on her own terms. She also shared behind-the-scenes stories from filming KATSEYE's Pinky Up music video, spoke about future queer brand collaborations and offered her views on topics ranging from Troye Sivan to Los Angeles politics.
"One of the hottest women I've ever seen," Wilson said on Sivan. "I need Troye Sivan to transition just for me. When people are like 'you're forcing other people to transition'. If I did have an agenda: Troye Sivan transitioning. And I know I'm not the only one."
Elsewhere in the conversation with host Ryan Lu, Wilson opened up about her sudden rise to fame, learning to protect her personal time and building a modelling career on her own terms.
She also shared behind-the-scenes details from filming KATSEYE's music video for Pinky Up, revealing that cold temperatures were one of the biggest challenges on set.
"I had so much fun, I loved filming that," she said. "Because it was so cold, between takes, sometimes when they would turn the camera off they would have people run to give us jackets, robes and blankets."
Wilson added that she has remained close with the other featured performers from the video.
"The girls and I call ourselves the Dollseye girls. We have a group chat. It's very cute," she said.
The podcast covered a range of pop culture topics, with Wilson sharing the queer brands she hopes to collaborate with in future, the artists currently dominating her playlists and how she successfully manifested an appearance on comedy streaming platform Dropout by reaching out through Instagram.
Never one to shy away from controversy, Wilson also offered her thoughts on former US Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell, joking that she and Lu should conduct a tarot reading to determine whether he was still alive.
"I feel like we should do a tarot reading for Mitch McConnell," she said. "Do you want to take bets on whether he's alive or not?"
The pair also touched on politics closer to home, with Wilson predicting that Los Angeles City Council member Nithya Raman would win the city's upcoming mayoral election.
