Mollie King to DJ at one of London’s best‑known LGBTQ+ pubs as part of campaign celebrating role of local pubs

Mollie King, BBC Radio 1 presenter and former member of The Saturdays, is set to take to the decks at one of London’s best‑known LGBTQ+ pubs later this month as part of a nationwide campaign celebrating the role of local pubs.

Mollie will headline a free DJ night at the City of Quebec on Saturday, 30 May, marking the third of Greene King pubs’ so‑called “pub warming” parties. The event forms part of the company’s Home At Your Local campaign, which highlights pubs as social hubs for communities.

The evening will begin at 8pm with a set from the venue’s resident DJ, before Mollie takes over from 9pm. Pubgoers can expect a mix of feel‑good pop, dancefloor favourites and Saturday night anthems. Entry is free and available on a first‑come, first‑served basis.

The event coincides with the start of Pride Month and takes place at a venue long regarded as a cornerstone of London’s LGBTQ+ nightlife. Greene King said the night was intended to celebrate inclusivity, community spirit and the shared experiences that pubs can offer.

The campaign follows new research commissioned by Greene King pubs, which found that 41% of people in Britain would be willing to pay up to 20% more to live near a great local pub. In response, the company has launched a “Second Home Scheme”, encouraging customers to formally declare their local pub as their second home.

Speaking ahead of the event, Mollie said pubs had played a central role in many of their most memorable moments. “They are one of the best ways to bring everyone together, so I’m really excited to be part of the pub warming celebrations at the City of Quebec,” she said. “It’s going to be such a fun night.”

Andrew Gallagher, brand and marketing director at Greene King pubs, said the City of Quebec event would bring the campaign to a close. “Our pubs are places where people and communities can come together, feel at home and make lasting memories,” he said. “We’re thrilled to be rounding off the series with Mollie King at one of London’s most iconic LGBTQ+ venues.”

The City of Quebec night is the final event in a series held across the UK throughout May, which has included a celebrity‑hosted pub quiz in London and a daytime rave inspired by Manchester’s Hacienda club scene.
