This is the second time I had the chance to sit down with Siân. Last time, we focused on the Green surge. This time, I wanted our conversation to focus on Pride. We are talking about the years before 2016, when LGBTQ+ rights in Britain were advancing with what felt like unstoppable momentum. Theresa May was promising to reform the Gender Recognition Act. Blood donation bans were being lifted. Non-binary identities were being recognised on public authority forms. It felt, Berry says, like a tidying up exercise. A settling of questions that had already been answered.

"And then things changed."

Berry, Green Party MP for Brighton Pavilion and one of the outspoken voices for LGBTQ+ equality in the current House of Commons, is speaking to Political by Design ahead of Pride Month.
