Have you always wanted to do something adventurous but don’t know how to go about it?

The Martlets Hospice are running a Challenges Seminar to help you plan your participation in any large adventure.

The informal event starts at 6.30pm on Wednesday, June 19, at the Martlets Hospice, Wayfield Avenue, Hove, to find out about the range of adventurous expeditions on offer.

The seminar will give you an insight into the reality of taking on a major challenge – both the highs and the lows. You will hear about many of the adventure challenges first hand from the trip leaders themselves.

Hear what it is really like to cycle from London to Paris, trek through the Sahara, or walk along the Great Wall of China.

The Martlets receives less than 30% of its funding via the NHS and relies on fundraising, including adventurous challenges, to provide its services.

The Martlets are keen to hear from determined individuals with a love of adventure or inexperienced explorers eager to take on a personal challenge.

Entry is free.

Support independent LGBTQ+ journalism

Scene was founded in Brighton in 1993, at a time when news stories about Pride protests were considered radical.

Since then, Scene has remained proudly independent, building a platform for queer voices. Every subscription helps us to report on the stories that matter to LGBTQ+ people across the UK and beyond.

Your support funds our journalists and contributes to Pride Community Foundation’s grant-making and policy work.
