Fred again.. to lead Abbey Road launch of new Trans+ Future Sounds series
Producer and artist Fred again.. will lead the launch of Trans+ Future Sounds, a new series dedicated to supporting trans+ music creators, when its inaugural event takes place at Abbey Road Studios on Friday, 19 June.
The free production and songwriting workshop marks the first outing for the initiative, presented by Trans Creative Collective (TCC) in partnership with We Are Moving The Needle.
Running from 3 - 8pm, the event will bring together trans songwriters, producers and music industry professionals for an afternoon focused on mentorship, skills development and community-building. Fred again.. will host a 2.5-hour session as part of a wider programme featuring artists, producers and industry leaders.

Also confirmed to take part are TCC co-founder and Trans+ Future Sounds founder charlieeeee, producer Sans Soucis, DJ and producer Messie, artist and songwriter Satch, and the trans choral collective Trans Voices. A&Rs, managers and agents actively championing trans talent will also be in attendance.
In total, the event will welcome 15 trans songwriters, 15 trans producers and 15 industry professionals. The programme includes workshops, a performance from Trans Voices, a gear and plug-in giveaway, and an evening reception designed to encourage networking and collaboration. While all genders are welcome, priority has been given to trans and queer creatives.

The launch comes amid ongoing concerns about representation in music production. According to We Are Moving The Needle’s Fix The Mix report, just 2.3% of producers are women, trans or non-binary. Organisers say Trans+ Future Sounds aims to directly challenge that imbalance by placing trans+ creators at the centre of one of the world’s most iconic recording studios, surrounded by peers, mentors and industry decision-makers.
charlieeeee said the project reflects Trans Creative Collective’s founding mission. “Since we started TCC in 2021, our whole aim has been to make space for trans+ creatives to thrive, not just survive, in the music industry,” they said. “Getting to welcome our community into Abbey Road, and to have artists like Fred again.. give their time and expertise, is genuinely moving.”

Trans Creative Collective was founded in 2021 to support trans creators and allies across music, film and art, and has since built an international community through workshops, mentoring and industry partnerships. The organisation has been recognised in the UK Music Diversity Report for its role in driving lasting change.
We Are Moving The Needle, founded by Grammy Award-winning mastering engineer Emily Lazar, supports women, non-binary and trans producers and engineers through scholarships, mentorships, research and advocacy.
Further Trans+ Future Sounds events are expected to be announced later in 2026.
