Stonewalll, the LGB equality organisation, has released Gay in Britain, a publication looking in detail at the discrimination of LGB people in Britain.
The polling, conducted by YouGov on behalf of Stonewall, shows that public services and politicians are still failing to address gay people’s fear of discrimination.
• Almost half of the 2,000 gay people surveyed expect to be treated less fairly than a heterosexual when applying to adopt a child.
• Seventy per cent expect barriers to becoming a school governor.
• 61 per cent believe the child of gay parents would be bullied in primary school.

Scene was founded in Brighton in 1993, at a time when news stories about Pride protests were considered radical.
Since then, Scene has remained proudly independent, building a platform for queer voices. Every subscription helps us to report on the stories that matter to LGBTQ+ people across the UK and beyond.
Your support funds our journalists and contributes to Pride Community Foundation’s grant-making and policy work.
