Scene's new literature newsletter: The Book Scene
Hello, book lovers! We have something special for you. Get ready for a newsletter all about LGBTQ+ literature! 📚
At Scene Magazine, we are fortunate to have a diverse team of writers and editors with a wide range of interests and areas of expertise. While we enjoy bringing you news from your community and around the world, our mission is to connect with you even more.
Earlier this year, we launched our first regular newsletter, The Saturday Scene, which looks at political events through an LGBTQ+ lens. However, the world isn't just politics. So we're excited to introduce our newest newsletter, The Book Scene, which will be available to our Scene+ subscribers.
The Book Scene will take a weekly deep dive into the world of LGBTQ+ literature, featuring interviews with authors, book reviews, and much more besides, all written by the fabulous Poppy Morgan.
"I’m so excited to get stuck into this project. The importance of literature is more prevalent than ever; whether it’s to enjoy, to educate or to escape into, and the role that queer authors play in that is huge," said Poppy about taking on The Book Scene.

The first edition will be released on Friday, 30 October 2026. Make sure you're signed up and have selected The Book Scene as one of the newsletters you'd like to receive. If you're already signed up, please check your newsletter preferences in your account settings.
Scene was founded in Brighton in 1993, at a time when news stories about Pride protests were considered radical.
Since then, Scene has remained proudly independent, building a platform for queer voices. Every subscription helps us to report on the stories that matter to LGBTQ+ people across the UK and beyond.
Your support funds our journalists and contributes to Pride Community Foundation’s grant-making and policy work.
