Chris Cooke, chair of the fundraising sub-committee at the Rainbow Fund, is calling for volunteers to help out at the forthcoming Charity Gala to be held at Legends on Sunday May 11, starting at 7.30pm.

The evening will be hosted by Panto Dame extraordinaire, Lee Tracey and stars comedian and impressionist Bobby Davro, Maisie Trollette, Jason Lee and one of the best Shirley Bassey impersonators in the business, Janie Voltare. All the performers have donated their services for free and all money raised on this one-off evening will be donated to the Rainbow Fund.

Chris said:  “What we need on the evening is for volunteers to help for a couple of hours with the collection buckets. It’s not an onerous task but we could really do with some help on this magical night. It’s a fab event for a great cause . Please get in touch with me if you can lend a hand”

Scene was founded in Brighton in 1993, at a time when news stories about Pride protests were considered radical.

Since then, Scene has remained proudly independent, building a platform for queer voices. Every subscription helps us to report on the stories that matter to LGBTQ+ people across the UK and beyond.

Your support funds our journalists and contributes to Pride Community Foundation’s grant-making and policy work.
