The Centre has operated in the City for the last 30 years and is currently based at St.Mary’s church at the top of St.James’ Street. It provides much needed support for those less privileged and provides a hot meal and a range of other services in a warm and caring environment.

Chris hopes that his networking and fundraising skills will be put to good use at the day centre.

He said:

“As a Trustee I hope I can make a real difference to those who use the centre as a source of food and advice, or simply be a friendly face who is there to help”

Support independent LGBTQ+ journalism

Scene was founded in Brighton in 1993, at a time when news stories about Pride protests were considered radical.

Since then, Scene has remained proudly independent, building a platform for queer voices. Every subscription helps us to report on the stories that matter to LGBTQ+ people across the UK and beyond.

Your support funds our journalists and contributes to Pride Community Foundation’s grant-making and policy work.
