LGBTQ+ Pathways to Family event on 16 September
Recognising that the path to having a family isn’t straightforward for LGBTQ+ people, Adoption South East - a partnership of councils from East Sussex, West Sussex, Brighton & Hove and Surrey - wants to help you explore the options available to you and bust a few myths.
This online event on 16 September will feature short presentations from experts, with an opportunity afterwards to join the breakout room of your choice, where you can speak to adoptive parents, or hear first-hand from local foster carers.
Adoption South East say: "Across Sussex, children who are unable to live with their birth family need foster carers to provide love, care and compassion to help give them the best possible start in life. This could be on a short- or long-term basis and carers receive training, support and competitive pay to help every child achieve their potential."

Scene was founded in Brighton in 1993, at a time when news stories about Pride protests were considered radical.
Since then, Scene has remained proudly independent, building a platform for queer voices. Every subscription helps us to report on the stories that matter to LGBTQ+ people across the UK and beyond.
Your support funds our journalists and contributes to Pride Community Foundation’s grant-making and policy work.
