Legends Brighton's non-stop cabaret fundraiser over Brighton Pride raises £4,400 for Sussex Beacon
Brighton Pride was made even more memorable this year thanks to a spectacular non-stop cabaret fundraiser hosted by Legends Brighton, which raised an incredible £4,400 for local HIV charity, the Sussex Beacon.
Upon learning that the event would support the Sussex Beacon, the team was both "delighted and humbled". With over two dozen outstanding performers - including Sandra, Stephanie Von Clitz and Cosmic - delivering more than eight hours of continuous entertainment, and hundreds of loyal fans and customers passing through the venue, the atmosphere was electric from start to finish.
The Sussex Beacon said: "An incredible day, full of love and kindness. Our most heartfelt thanks first and foremost to Erica Hann, Director of this remarkable venue, for her really wonderful support.
"Likewise, many thanks indeed to Bradley and the fantastic Legends team, to all of the absolutely fabulous (we had to say it) performers, to Substance Hastings for donating the spectacular hamper to be auctioned, to the new owner of the hamper and to each and every one of you who donated to the Beacon then and since the main event.
"As a result of everyone's kindness and massive generosity, from time given, to donations and door sales (also amazingly donated by Legends), the event raised the phenomenal amount of nearly almost £4,400 for the Sussex Beacon.
"This money will be used to help us open the UK's first dedicated LGBTQ+ hospice, which will uniquely combine inclusive care with expertise in specialist HIV care. It's a particularly exciting time for the Beacon and the money raised will make a huge difference. Thank you all, so very very much."
