Hear'Say and Liberty X reunite for a massive UK tour and Brighton is on the list
Grab your cargo trousers and dust off your CD collection, because Hear'Say and Liberty X are heading to the Brighton Centre!
2000s pop fans, assemble! I genuinely can't believe I'm writing this but 25 years after the TV show Popstars (before X-Factor, before The Voice, before any of those shows) changed British pop culture forever, Hear'Say and Liberty X are reuniting for a huge joint UK arena tour. Best. News. Ever!
The two groups who famously emerged as the winners and runners-up of the groundbreaking ITV talent show will hit the road together for the Popstars: The Originals tour celebrating the 25th anniversary of their formation and the legacy of a television phenomenon that paved the way for acts including One Direction, Little Mix, Girls Aloud and JLS.
For the first time ever, we'll get to see both bands performing on the same stage, bringing together some of the biggest pop hits of the early 2000s in what promises to be one of the most nostalgic tours of 2027.
Hear'Say will reunite with four original members, Kym Marsh, Suzanne Shaw, Noel Sullivan and Danny Foster. Sadly Myleene Klass won't be taking part but the reunion is a major moment for fans who never thought they'd see the group back together. I definitley didn't have a Hear'Say reunion on my bingo card!
Oh and if that wasn't exciting enough, Liberty X are returning with their full original line up! Michelle Heaton, Jessica Taylor, Kelli Young, Kevin Simm and Tony Lundon will reunite for the first time in years after the girls spent over a decade performing as a trio at Pride festivals and nostalgia events.
For lifelong Liberty X fans (guilty), having the boys back makes this reunion feel even more special. I've always wanted to see Libery X live but I was too young the first time round!
Hear'Say became overnight sensations after winning Popstars in 2001, scoring chart topping success with the iconic Pure and Simple before following it up with another UK number one, The Way To Your Love (a bop). Their debut album Popstars went triple platinum and cemented their place in British pop history.
Meanwhile, Liberty X transformed losing into one of pop's greatest success stories. Their massive hit Just A Little became one of the defining songs of the decade and if I ever get married I'm definitley having it on my reception playlist! Other tracks including Thinking It Over, Got To Have Your Love and Being Nobody helped establish them as one of the UK's most successful pop groups of the era. Justice for Doin' It by the way, such a slept on track!
Speaking about the reunion, Hear'Say said: "Coming back together after 25 years is something that's incredibly special to all of us. It's a chance to celebrate an unforgettable chapter in our lives, reconnect with each other and relive so many amazing memories."
Liberty X added: "It's hard to believe it's been 25 years since Popstars changed all of our lives. We're thrilled to be heading out on tour with Hear'Say to celebrate where it all began."
Twenty five years on, the music, the memories and the pure Y2K pop magic are back and I am absolutely here for it. I was 13 when Popstars first took over our TV screens and I remember watching it with my mum and dad and my brother as if it was yesterday but it feels like another lifetime ago too. Where did those 25 years go?! Get reunion tour ready with my Hear'Say and Liberty X playlist below featuring all the hits, fan faves and forgotten gems!
