Brighton & Hove LGBT Switchboard is inviting LGBTQ+ communities to take part in a new community survey as the charity reflects on its 50th year and looks ahead to what comes next.

For 50 years, Switchboard has offered support, connection and a voice for LGBTQ+ people in Brighton & Hove. The new survey asks the community what Switchboard means to them, what they think the organisation is getting right, and what they would like to see more of in the future.

The survey is short and accessible, with only eight questions and taking less than two minutes to complete.

Rob Sainsbury, Switchboard’s CEO said: “Switchboard exists because of our LGBTQ+ communities, and we want to hear from as many people as possible. This is a chance for people to tell us what Switchboard means to them, what feels important, and what they want to see from us in the future. As we reflect on 50 years of community support, we want the next chapter to be shaped by the people and communities we are here for.”

The survey, which closes 11.59pm on Sunday, 26 April, is open to anyone who has used Switchboard’s services, volunteered, worked alongside the organisation, or simply knows who Switchboard is.

Support independent LGBTQ+ journalism

Scene was founded in Brighton in 1993, at a time when news stories about Pride protests were considered radical.

Since then, Scene has remained proudly independent, building a platform for queer voices. Every subscription helps us to report on the stories that matter to LGBTQ+ people across the UK and beyond.

Your support funds our journalists and contributes to Pride Community Foundation’s grant-making and policy work.
