Gaydio has announced the shortlist for the Gaydio Pride Awards 2025, a ceremony dedicated to recognising and celebrating the efforts made to better LGBTQ+ lives in the UK.

Those shortlisted for the award categories will be honoured at a glitzy ceremony on March 14 at Manchester’s Hilton Hotel, where guests will enjoy an evening of celebration, joined by a hoard of famous faces attending; including award-winning podcasters The Gossip Gays (Danny Beard and Billy Andrew) hosting the red carpet and a performance by global drag superstar La Voix, with more high-profile performers to be announced.

Previous ceremonies, hosted by Gaydio’s breakfast show presenters Paris & Dave, have seen performances from Grammy-nominated artist Raye, a DJ set from Sigala, alongside a star-studded guest list of celebs including Rhian Sugden, Layton Williams, Andy Burnham, Max Balegde, Russell T Davies and Ella Morgan.

The Gaydio Pride Awards 2025 will focus on regional and grassroots efforts, giving thanks to the unsung heroes within the LGBTQ+ community – nine of the 13 categories were opened to the public in November 2024, giving people the chance to shine a light on the individuals, charities and organisations working tirelessly to create safer, more inclusive spaces and improve lives within the queer community.

ZANDER MURRAY

Gaydio’s independent panel of four community judges have whittled down the nominations to an official shortlist with the winner of each category to be revealed on the night. Judges include; Annie Wallace, former Hollyoaks actress and the first trans person to portray a regular transgender character in British soap opera history; Char Bailey, community campaigner, Pride director and mental health advocate; Conor Clark, an LGBTQ+ journalist and Zander Murray, the first openly gay player in the SPFL.
