The concert, organised to celebrate David Raven‘s (aka Maisie Trollette) 90th Birthday, at the Brighton Dome on Sunday, July 23 raised £5,000 for the Brighton Rainbow Fund to distribute to local LGBTQ+ and HIV organisations as grants.

Chris Gull, Chair of Trustees of the Brighton Rainbow Fund, thanked “all the performers who gave of their time and talent, the Directors and Producers Allan Cardew and Carole Todd, the staff and crew from the Brighton Dome, and volunteers from the Ledward Centre, and of course the audience who were so generous in contributing to raising these funds.”

Support independent LGBTQ+ journalism

Scene was founded in Brighton in 1993, at a time when news stories about Pride protests were considered radical.

Since then, Scene has remained proudly independent, building a platform for queer voices. Every subscription helps us to report on the stories that matter to LGBTQ+ people across the UK and beyond.

Your support funds our journalists and contributes to Pride Community Foundation’s grant-making and policy work.
