Danny Beard to host National AIDS Trust's flagship fundraising event, 'Drag Raise'
National AIDS Trust will be bringing its flagship Drag Raise fundraising evening back to central London, hosted by Danny Beard, one of the UK’s best-known drag talents.
At Diageo’s glamorous Luminist Bar, the event – taking place on 16 July – is returning this year even bigger and better, after guests acclaimed last year’s event as “the best event of its kind I’ve ever been to.”
Danny Beard, RuPaul’s Drag Race UK season 4 winner, will host the evening, alongside performers from a star-studded lineup which will include more of the best-loved stars of UK drag.
Danny Beard, said: “I am delighted to be hosting this year’s Drag Raise and working with National AIDS Trust, the UK’s HIV rights charity. It’s going to be an incredible event – all in support of the vital work they do to tackle discrimination and fight for HIV rights.”

Robbie Currie, National AIDS Trust’s Chief Executive Officer, added: “Drag Raise has become a become an iconic event in National AIDS Trust’s calendar – it's only right it returns this summer. The drag community has always played an important role in HIV activism, and this is the perfect opportunity to celebrate UK drag whilst raising funds so we can continue our vital work fighting for HIV rights.
“We are on the way to ending new HIV transmissions, but we won’t stop until everyone affected by HIV can live their fullest life possible.”
“I’m looking forward to seeing Danny and the rest of the line-up take to the stage this summer!”
Last year’s event raised more than £26,000 to support National AIDS Trust’s vital work to end HIV stigma and stop new HIV transmissions. Alongside incredible performers, the event will feature bespoke cocktails, delicious canapés, a luxury auction and a raffle with some exclusive prizes.
