Victim named in Brighton murder enquiry

The man who was found dead at a property in Brighton in the early hours of Friday (July 4) has been named as Nicholas Widgery, 26, of Newham in London.

A post mortem has been carried out, but the cause of death has not yet been established and toxicology results are awaited.

A 41-year-old man, a 28-year-old man and a 24-year-old man, all from Brighton, were arrested on suspicion of murder. They have been bailed until September 4.

Detectives launched an investigation after a 30-year-old man with head injuries was found dead at a property in Upper Rock Gardens, Brighton. Police were alerted at 4.21am on Friday (July 4) after ambulance personnel called to the address were unable to revive the man.
