PREVIEW: Live streaming play premiere – A Separate Peace

Tom Stoppard’s  play A Separate Peace, written for tv in 1966, has been re-invented for our lockdown era, with a starry cast of actors and brilliant range of technicians – all social distancing in a remarkable new way of presenting drama.

It stars David Morrissey, Jenna Coleman, Denise Gough, Ed Stoppard and Maggie Service.

The play – in a very timely way – centres on a private nursing home, whose peace is disturbed by the arrival of a fee-paying patient who is totally well and has no need to be there.

It’s the first in a series called “ The Remote Read “ which aims to give much-needed work to not only actors but backstage technical professionals who are hard hit by the current closure of theatres.

This is the first time  a theatre piece  has been created entirely remotely. It will raise funds for out of work creatives and for  The Felix food charity . It will be broadcast once only via Zoom on Saturday, 2 May at 7pm.

Information on tickets from www.theremote read.com

It’s produced by CurtainCall, Apples and Oranges Arts and Platform Presents.

Jobs in future productions will be advertised online via CurtainCall .
