LETTER TO EDITOR: Hello again Chester!

We have been touched by the overwhelming response following our open letter published after we heard about the cancellation of Chester Pride.

LETTER TO EDITOR: Hello again Chester!

We have been touched by the overwhelming response following our open letter published after we heard about the cancellation of Chester Pride.

THANK you so much for your kind words, reading every tweet and comment made us smile all day long.

Adding together 20% of staff wages, 10% of online and instore sales and the same again from our director himself, we were delighted to announce that we managed to raise just under £400 to donate to Chester Pride! But then Simon blew us away again and boosted the donation to £500!

A happy birthday to us, and from everyone at Nice ‘n’ Naughty, a very happy Pride to you. As the amazing rallying of support over the past few days has shown, it’s so much more than just a day.

Love and rainbows – today and always,

Support independent LGBTQ+ journalism

Scene was founded in Brighton in 1993, at a time when news stories about Pride protests were considered radical.

Since then, Scene has remained proudly independent, building a platform for queer voices. Every subscription helps us to report on the stories that matter to LGBTQ+ people across the UK and beyond.

Your support funds our journalists and contributes to Pride Community Foundation’s grant-making and policy work.
