Help Helen raise vital funds for The Brighton Rainbow Fund
Helen Woodcock-Downey is climbing Everest during lockdown, by ascending 5 flights of stairs, 65 times a day, for 10 days starting on May 1st.
This is a tough challenge, but she feels it will be really worthwhile if it will raise funds for The Brighton Rainbow Fund, and so has set up a Justgiving page.

Chris Gull, Chair of The Brighton Rainbow Fund
“ What a fantastic challenge to undertake!
The amount that we will have to distribute to our local LGBTQ+ and HIV projects this year will be severely affected by the necessary cancellation of Pride and Brighton Bear Weekend, together with the closure of venues that support us.
We are so impressed and grateful for initiatives like Helen’s, and wish her well on her conquest. Please help us, and the 23 projects that we currently support, by encouraging and supporting her.”

Support independent LGBTQ+ journalism
Scene was founded in Brighton in 1993, at a time when news stories about Pride protests were considered radical. Since then, Scene has remained proudly independent, building a platform for queer voices. Every subscription helps us to report on the stories that matter to LGBTQ+ people across the UK and beyond.
Your support funds our journalists and contributes to Pride Community Foundation’s grant-making and policy work.
