Get off your sofa and ‘Bop for the Sussex Beacon’

Bop for the Beacon, a brand-new appeal to support the Sussex Beacon‘s nursing team is launching on Friday, April 17.
During social isolation, the Sussex Beacon is asking everyone to do something fun, get off the couch and record themselves dancing to their favourite record to raise awareness, and funds, of the amazing jobs nurses and clinical teams do across Sussex!
Simply record yourself dancing, upload that video to Facebook or Twitter and tag in the page @bopforthebeacon using #BopForTheBeacon. Every dance shared helps to show your support for the amazing frontline and support staff who are keeping patients and the community safe and well during a tough time.

The Sussex Beacon, say: “Bop For The Beacon is an opportunity for you to support our nursing team and have a fun dance at the same time. The nursing team are watching each video to lift them in this difficult time
“We know this is a really difficult time for people but if you are able to support our nursing team via donating to our appeal it would make an enormous difference to us.”
The Sussex Beacon is open 24 hours a day in response to the COVID-19 crisis providing vital care and bed space for vulnerable patients in and around Brighton.

Support independent LGBTQ+ journalism
Scene was founded in Brighton in 1993, at a time when news stories about Pride protests were considered radical. Since then, Scene has remained proudly independent, building a platform for queer voices. Every subscription helps us to report on the stories that matter to LGBTQ+ people across the UK and beyond.
Your support funds our journalists and contributes to Pride Community Foundation’s grant-making and policy work.
