General election 2019: What to look out for on LGBT issues

Ahead of the General election 2019, the BBC are travelling across the UK to ask voters what issues matter most to them. They have also created a number of short films online addressing particular areas of focus. This includes a guide on what to look out for on LGBT issues.

As part of the short film they have picked out three real-world LGBT equality issues that they think will come up during the campaign – LGBT-inclusive education, hate crime and trans equality.

In this video, Tobias Chapple seeks to explain how to keep an eye on election campaign to see if the parties are taking these areas of focus seriously if they raise them at all.

“If you care about LGBT equality, here’s what to watch out for”.

Since then, Scene has remained proudly independent, building a platform for queer voices. Every subscription helps us to report on the stories that matter to LGBTQ+ people across the UK and beyond.

Your support funds our journalists and contributes to Pride Community Foundation’s grant-making and policy work.
