Fleeing from his home in Zimbabwe where a fresh wave of homophobia threatens his life, Ishmael has sought sanctuary in the UK.
Dispersed to Leeds, he waits to hear his fate and for a new life to begin amongst strangers.
Moving around this new city he should call home, Ishmael meets new people, some strangers and some hostile. Actor Lladel Bryant brings each of these characters to life, helping us warm both to him and the friends he tries to make.
Through his eyes we see the world as he sees it and root for him as he tries to find a place to call home.
Zodwa Nyoni of the West Yorkshire Playhouse/ Channel 4, has threaded together humour and humanity to tell this personal gay story behind the asylum headlines.
