Tiara Skye confronts transphobia in London
British TikTok personality and trans rights advocate Tiara Skye has become the centre of a viral moment after confronting a transphobic verbal attack while filming content on the streets of London.
The incident, captured on video and widely shared across social media platforms, shows Skye being accosted by a passer-by who hurled anti-trans abuse, including the statement: “You will never be a woman, you will never have ovaries”. Skye, known for her confident and unapologetic presence online, responded with poise and defiance, saying: “I am way better than you. You’re not the woman I’m trying to be”.
The exchange, which also included the use of a homophobic slur, has drawn widespread condemnation and sparked renewed conversations about the everyday harassment faced by trans individuals in public spaces. Skye’s response has been praised for its dignity and strength, with many online users expressing solidarity and admiration.
This incident came as London hosted its largest-ever Trans Pride march, with over 100,000 people taking to the streets in a powerful show of support for trans rights and visibility.
While Skye has not issued a formal statement beyond her video, she has continued to post content highlighting both the challenges and joys of being a Black trans woman in Britain.
