Aussie singer-songwriter Ruel Vincent van Dijk aka Ruel has dropped a brand new track today called Hate Myself via Giant Music and the pop icon has also announced a headline UK and Europe tour! The tour kicks off this October, alongside his debut appearance at The Great Escape festival in Brighton.

Following the massive release of Don’t Say That, Hate Myself marks a triumphant second single ahead of the next chapter in his double album project, following Kicking My Feet (Part One), the forthcoming part two arrives as Kicking My Feet & Screaming. The new song gives fans a glimpse into a new, uncharted side of Ruel while still tapping into the vulnerability that he’s known for. At its core, the track explores what it feels like to be stuck in a toxic, self destructive relationship, knowing it’s hurting you, but not being able to walk away.

Co-written by industry moguls Kenny Beats and Jackson Morgan, Hate Myself captures what it feels like to love someone who is bad for you and choosing to stay until you start resenting yourself more than them. Ruel recalls how the track came about: "I wrote this one on the day I met Kenny and Jackson, and when you meet someone for the first time, you sort of try to focus on getting to know one another. After 5-6 hours in the studio, we had basically nothing but then Kenny threw a bit of a hail Mary, the three of us mixed ideas around, and next thing we knew we had the whole song in about 30 mins. Since then, every session I’ve had with Kenny has flowed so well and the two of us wrote a good chunk of the album Part 2 together!"

Ruel just wrapped the second leg of his 2026 North American Kicking My Feet Tour, where he was supported by UK born singer-songwriter Arthur Hill, emerging soul pop singer Chelsea Jordan and rising San Francisco native Mercer Henderson. Earlier this year, he also toured in South America on the Lollapalooza festival circuit in Chile, Argentina and Brazil and the Estero Picnic Festival in Colombia.

To celebrate his double album era, the pop sensation has also announced he’ll be hitting the road again this fall for the Kicking & Screaming Tour, heading across the UK and Europe from the 1st October through 30th October with support from singer-songwriter Sadie Jean. Artist pre-sale begins next Tuesday (28th April) at 10am, followed by general on sale next Thursday (30th April) at 10am.

Kicking & Screaming got off to a strong start last month with Don’t Say That, and will bring fans 10 new tracks as Ruel builds on his Kicking My Feet era. All star collaborators that teamed up to create the highly anticipated project include Julian Bunetta who has worked Sabrina Carpenter, One Direction and Teddy SwimsJohn Ryan who has worked with Olivia Dean, Harry Styles and Shawn Mendes), M-Phazes (Demi Lovato, Eminem, Noah Cyrus), Dan Wilson (Taylor Swift, Niall Horan, Adele) and Leroy Clampit (Lily Allen, Justin Bieber, Finneas).
