Play on Edward Dorking, openly gay survivor of Titanic, to tour UK

A powerful one-man show, Third Class – A Titanic Story, will tour the UK throughout 2025 and early 2026, offering audiences a fresh perspective on the Titanic tragedy.

Written and performed by Russell Lucas, the production tells the extraordinary true story of Edward Dorking, a working-class passenger aboard the Titanic who was openly gay and survived the sinking against all odds. Combining music, movement, and historical projections, the play shines a light on the overlooked experiences of third-class travellers and challenges the traditional narrative dominated by tales of the wealthy.

Critics have hailed the production as “thought-provoking and totally involving,” praising its authenticity and simplicity. Performances typically run for 70 minutes without an interval, with ticket prices ranging from £8 to £22.50.
