“Don’t send LGBTQ+ people into danger.” Email your MP to protect LGBTQ+ asylum seekers
Rainbow Migration, a charity providing practical and emotional support for LGBTQ+ people seeking asylum, said: “LGBTQ+ people come to the UK in need of protection. But this government wants to punish them by sending them to countries where they will face yet more persecution.”
On Monday, July 17, MPs will vote on whether LGBTQ+ people who come here seeking safety can be sent away to have their asylum claims considered in countries where their lives could be at risk such as Ghana or Nigeria.
Rainbow Migration, a charity providing practical and emotional support for LGBTQ+ people seeking asylum, said: “LGBTQ+ people come to the UK in need of protection. But this government wants to punish them by sending them to countries where they will face yet more persecution.
“The Lords have amended the government’s Refugee Ban Bill to prevent this from happening, but MPs must agree as well in order to stop this cruel proposal becoming law.”
Rainbow Migration is asking you to email your MP to ask them not to send LGBTQ+ people into danger.
