A vibrant crowd gathered in Jersey to mark the 10th anniversary of Channel Islands Pride, with thousands turning out in support of the LGBTQ+ community. The streets of St Helier came alive with colour as attendees donned bright outfits and creative costumes to celebrate love, diversity, and inclusion.

The Pride Parade kicked off at 1pm from the Royal Square, winding its way through the town before arriving at People’s Park. Spectators lined the route, cheering and waving flags in a show of solidarity.

At People’s Park, the festivities continued with live music, children’s play areas, and dedicated wellbeing zones, creating a welcoming space for all ages to enjoy the day.

Among the attendees was Kaye Nicholson, CEO of the charity Liberate Jersey, who proudly wore a black t-shirt reading “Celebrating a Decade of Being Proud of You.” Standing in front of vibrant ‘Liberate’ flags and rainbow decorations, she expressed her joy at the turnout:

“We had so many people turn out looking amazingly beautiful. It was just a joyous occasion,” she said.

She emphasised the importance of continued allyship, especially in light of global challenges to LGBTQ+ rights:

“It’s a really important opportunity for allyship and it needs to continue because we’re seeing globally a rollback of LGBTQ+ rights and it’s important we preserve that.”

Dr Adam Perchard, who opened the main stage and served as master of ceremonies, brought flair and energy to the event in a dazzling turquoise jacket with dramatic blue shoulder spikes and a purple shawl. Reflecting on the milestone, they shared: “It’s such a special vibe because it’s our 10-year anniversary. I remember the first Pride here, and as a teenager in Jersey, I sometimes faced discrimination. To now see these streets filled with support is wonderful.”

The entertainment lineup featured DJ Woody Cook - son of DJ Fatboy Slim and BBC Radio presenter Zoe Ball - who paused his 90-mile fundraising walk to perform the first music set. The day concluded with a headline performance by former X-Factor winner Alexandra Burke, bringing the celebration to a powerful and uplifting close.
