With just a couple of weeks to go, Brighton & Hove is preparing to welcome back its iconic Pride celebrations, promising a fortnight of vibrant events, community spirit, and powerful messages of unity and inclusion.

This year marks a landmark collaboration between Trans Pride and Brighton Pride, uniting under the banner of United in Pride - a city-wide festival celebrating diversity, resilience, and joy.

The festivities begin with Trans Pride on Saturday 19 July, the largest Trans, Non-binary and Intersex (TNBI) event in Europe. Entirely volunteer-run, this grassroots celebration will commence with speeches at 11am in Victoria Gardens, followed by a march at 12pm and a day of outdoor events and an after-party.

Brighton & Hove Pride weekend takes place on Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 August, featuring the much-loved Pride Community Parade, the two-day Pride on the Park music festival, and a newly relocated Pride Street Party.

  • On Saturday, 2 August, the Pride Community Parade will march from Hove Lawns to Preston Park, showcasing over 100 groups including local charities, emergency services, and LGBTQ+ organisations. This year’s theme, “Ravishing Rage” celebrates resilience, passion, and unity.
  • Pride on the Park will feature headline performances from Mariah Carey and Sugababes, alongside over 150 LGBTQ+ artists across multiple stages and themed areas.
  • The Pride Street Party moves to Marine Parade, offering drag stages, music zones, and bars. St James’s Street will remain open but will not host official Pride events.

The United in Pride initiative invites community groups, LGBTQ+ businesses and individuals to host events that celebrate identity, promote inclusion, and raise funds for LGBTQ+ causes. Through arts, performances, educational sessions and family-friendly gatherings, the festival aims to uplift and empower every member of the community.

Since its inception, Brighton & Hove Pride has raised over £1.4 million for local LGBTQ+ causes through the Pride Community Foundation and associated funds.

Bella Sankey, leader of Brighton & Hove City Council, said:

“In Brighton & Hove you are free to love who you choose and to live as your authentic self. As we begin our countdown to our legendary Pride celebrations, we remember that Pride began as a protest and we recommit to the struggle for equality and freedom for LGBTQ+ people.”

Paul Kemp, Managing Director of Brighton & Hove Pride, added:

“This year’s Pride is shaping up to be our best yet. From our Community Parade to Pride on the Park and the Pride Street Party, our priority is always to create a safe, sustainable event that supports community fundraising and celebrates our LGBTQ+ venues.”
