London’s LGBTQ+ nightlife is in for a festive treat as Big Bear Bash proudly brings back the iconic Tonker Club for a one-off celebration on Friday, 12 December, at The Eagle London. This special collaboration promises an evening brimming with energy, nostalgia, and the unmistakable camaraderie of the Bear community.
First launched in 2003, Tonker quickly became a cornerstone of the capital’s Bear scene, famed for its inclusive ethos and vibrant dancefloors. What began as a single party grew into a 12-year run of legendary Friday nights, hosted at venues such as Barcode Soho before finding its spiritual home at The Eagle in Vauxhall. For over a decade, Tonker was the go-to destination for big-hearted blokes and their admirers, offering top-notch music and a warm, welcoming vibe.
Tonker’s mantra - “BOOZE-CRUISE-TUNES” - perfectly captured its laid-back yet lively spirit. Resident DJs Tim Jones and Paul Coals, alongside a roster of guest selectors, served up an eclectic mix of classic house anthems and contemporary dance hits, creating a dancefloor alive with laughter, connection and good vibes.

Since its weekly run ended, Tonker has gone global, appearing at major LGBTQ+ events including Sydney Mardi Gras, San Francisco Folsom, Ibiza White Party, Brighton Pride, and more - always uniting the Bear community in celebration.
Now, as part of Big Bear Bash’s monthly series, Tonker makes its triumphant return for one night only. Expect DJ Tim Jones at the decks, delivering the signature Tonker sound - a journey through house classics and modern floor-fillers guaranteed to keep paws tapping until dawn.
