Arcobaleno, the LGBTQ+ café, bar, restaurant and event space, has closed its doors in Kemptown.
The safe space, which hosted cabaret events, quiz nights and karaoke, had publicised its roast dinner offering on Instagram only five days ago, leading many to believe the closure was a sudden decision.
Whilst there has been no official statement from the venue, Barbary Lane, its neighbours, broke the news on social media, saying: “Absolutely gutted our fab neighbour Arcobaleno cafe just had to close.”
“So sad, they brought so much positively and fun.”

Scene was founded in Brighton in 1993, at a time when news stories about Pride protests were considered radical. Since then, Scene has remained proudly independent, building a platform for queer voices. Every subscription helps us to report on the stories that matter to LGBTQ+ people across the UK and beyond.
