Kendal Pride 2026 is set to shine brighter than ever as Viola, the multi-talented star of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK season seven, returns to host the festivities. Known for her electrifying blend of live vocals and classical violin, Viola will lead the celebration with glamour, charisma, and a touch of Drag Race magic, promising an unforgettable weekend in the heart of the Lake District.

Viola, who dazzled audiences at this year’s festival, will once again take centre stage at the annual celebration of LGBTQ+ Pride, which runs from Friday 12 to Sunday, 14 June 2026. Known for her musical talents and charismatic performances, Viola expressed her excitement, saying: “I’m absolutely thrilled to be coming back for Kendal Pride 2026. I had a gorgeous time this year and it’s going to be fabulous bringing a bit of Drag Race realness to the Auld Grey Town.

The event, described by organisers as “Pride done differently”, will feature a packed programme of entertainment and community activities. Highlights include the return of the Pride Village at Abbot Hall and the Big Pride Party at Bowness Bay Brewery, with further details to be announced in the coming months.

Sally Lofthouse-Jones, chair of the Kendal Pride organising group, praised Viola’s impact: “Viola was brilliant this year and when we saw she was hitting the runway on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, we knew we had to invite her back. This is just the beginning of what we’ve got planned for 2026 as we build on the successes of our first three years.”

Fans will also have the opportunity to meet Viola in person, with a ticketed meet-and-greet event planned as part of the festivities.

Meanwhile, RuPaul’s Drag Race UK season seven has just premiered on BBC Three, bringing together 12 fierce queens from across the UK, including Viola herself. The new season promises high drama, dazzling fashion, and unforgettable performances, with RuPaul returning as host alongside judges Michelle Visage, Alan Carr and Graham Norton. Filmed at Pinewood Studios, the series features weekly challenges, runway themes, and the iconic “Snatch Game”, all culminating in the crowning of the UK’s next drag superstar.
