Very first Trans Pride Kent to take place in Canterbury

Trans Pride Kent (TPK) will be held at Westgate Hall, Canterbury on Saturday, 28 March

The grassroots Trans Pride will be setting up a trans services, a support network and Fringe Festival with LGBTQ+ run and friendly safe spaces across the city, with stalls, guest speakers, acts, services and more in the Westgate Hall on the day.

Organisers said: "The trans community has been under attack in the press and used as political point scoring between parties for as long as any one can remember. It’s time for the trans community of Kent - and all those under the LGBTQ+ umbrella and allies - to stick together, look after one another, and use Pride and the services and support available."

The day is designed to support, celebrate and uplift the trans community of Kent and beyond.

TPK was founded and created by Shea Coffey, an avid LGBTQ+ and trans activist who founded Medway Pride Radio and Rainbows Over Medway, and Tyler Chitty, founder and chair of Herne Bay Pride, along with their partners Sarah and Kate

Both Shea and Tyler are from the trans community and are multi-award winners for making a big community impact for LGBTQ communities+ locally and beyond.

The team was recently joined by LGBTQ+ activist Jordan Chan, Swale Pride director and founder of Queer Kent Life, multi-award winning charity fundraiser, former Mr Gay Great Britain runner up, and one of this year's Queer Student Award judges.

So join them and the trans community, wider LGBTQ+ community and allies on Saturday, 28 March at Westgate Hall in Canterbury
