A conservative activist group has announced plans for a mass gathering at Disneyland next year, coinciding with an LGBTQ+ fan event, sparking concerns about potential clashes at the California theme park.
The group, known as 805 Patriots, is organising what it calls a “MAGA Invasion” on 28 February 2026, encouraging supporters of US President Donald Trump to attend wearing red MAGA hats and merchandise emblazoned with slogans such as “Make Disney Great Again”. The event, dubbed “Patriots in the Park”, is being promoted as a celebration of “American roots and classic values” and is not officially sanctioned by Disneyland.
However, the chosen date coincides with Mini Gay Days, a long-running LGBTQ+ community event at Disneyland organised by Gay Days Anaheim. The overlap was reportedly unintentional, but organisers have since embraced the timing, claiming it will make the day “even more fun” and posting on social media that they aim to “trigger as many liberals as possible”.
Disneyland has not commented on either event but reiterated its rules prohibiting flags, demonstrations and attire deemed disruptive. While political clothing is not explicitly banned, the park reserves the right to deny entry to guests whose outfits could detract from the experience of others.
The announcement has prompted mixed reactions online. Some Disney fans have urged others to avoid the park that day, while others have called for countermeasures such as booking reservations to limit attendance by the MAGA group.
