Drag superstar and RuPaul’s Drag Race alum Trixie Mattel has brought back her much-loved Drag Queen Storytime segment on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and this time, the reading material was none other than Eric Trump’s new memoir, Under Siege: My Family’s Fight to Save Our Nation.

The segment, which originally debuted in 2023 with Mattel reading Ted Cruz’s Unwoke, returned on the 15 October episode of the late-night show. Framed as a cheeky attempt to “build a bridge and join hands through literature,” the storytime quickly turned into a comedic roast of the Trump family’s latest literary effort.

Dressed in full glam, Mattel opened the session by asking the children, “Do I scare any of you?”—a pointed jab at conservative efforts to restrict drag performances in public spaces. The children, unfazed, responded with admiration: “You just look amazing. Why would that be scary?”

The group then sifted through a stack of books, with Mattel suggesting they read one “by President Trump’s least favourite son.” The children groaned in unison, but the reading commenced nonetheless. As Mattel read excerpts praising Donald Trump’s “heart of gold,” one child interrupted: “OK, I’mma stop you right there. Instead of skipping this page, we should skip the entire book.” Another simply asked if they could go straight to lunch.

The segment culminated in a “science experiment” outside, where Mattel and the children fed the book into a wood chipper. “This might not be a great book, but it’s going to make excellent confetti,” she quipped, to cheers from the young audience.
