Trans Rage Prom to bring joyful defiance to Chats Palace on Trans Day of Visibility
Trans Rage Prom is set to take over Chats Palace in Homerton on Tuesday, 31 March, marking Trans Day of Visibility with an evening dedicated to joy, resistance, and radical self‑expression.
Hosted by R.A.G.E, the event builds on the success and momentum of the Trans Rage art exhibitions, which have championed creativity, community, and unapologetic trans visibility. Now, that spirit is being translated into a night where trans, non-binary, queer, and allied communities can come together to celebrate without restraint.
At a time when trans people in the UK continue to face heightened hostility, organisers say the prom serves as both an act of care and an act of defiance - a chance to reclaim rites of passage that many were excluded from growing up.
“This prom is about more than nostalgia,” organisers said. “It’s about creating the space we needed then - and still need now. After the success of the Trans Rage exhibitions, we wanted to bring people together in a way that feels joyful, communal and healing.”
Open to anyone seeking a second chance at prom - or simply a night to show up authentically - attendees are encouraged to arrive in whatever makes them feel most themselves, whether that’s tuxedos, gowns, glitter, glamour, or something entirely original.

The night will feature music, dancing, and a vibrant, communal atmosphere grounded in care, solidarity, and creative resistance. For organisers, the prom represents a continuation of Trans Rage’s mission: to cultivate community-led spaces where trans people can gather safely, visibly, and joyfully.
