Trans Pride Brighton shortlisted for Pride Organisation of the Year at 2026 Gaydio Awards
Trans Pride Brighton has been shortlisted for Pride Organisation of the Year at the Gaydio Awards 2026, as Gaydio revealed the full list of nominees celebrating grassroots LGBTQ+ heroes across the UK.
Now in its fourth year, the awards spotlight the individuals, charities and community groups doing vital, often unseen work to create safer and more inclusive spaces. This year sees a renewed focus on regional and grassroots impact, with 12 categories opened to public nominations in late 2025.
Trans Pride Brighton, recognised internationally as one of the world’s largest Trans Pride events, appears on the shortlist alongside Great Yarmouth & Waveney Pride and Happy Valley Pride. The nomination acknowledges the organisation’s continued role in advocating for trans, non-binary and gender‑diverse people while delivering one of the UK’s most significant community-led Pride events.
Nominees will be honoured at a ceremony on 20 March 2026 at the Manchester Deansgate Hotel. The evening will feature performances by X Factor winner Louisa Johnson and drag sensation Bailey J Mills, with more musical acts and celebrity guests to be announced.

The Gaydio Awards have grown rapidly in prominence. Last year’s ceremony became a moment of national conversation when Russell T Davies’ acceptance speech for the Icon Award underscored the awards’ importance as a platform for LGBTQ+ voices, not just celebration.
This year’s judging panel includes leading figures from across the LGBTQ+ community: actor and activist Annie Wallace, Birmingham Pride director Char Bailey, journalist Conor Clark, trans advocate Lars Fellows, and LGBTQ+ network leader Matthew Chew. Together they have narrowed thousands of nominations to the official 2026 shortlist.
Other categories this year include Venue of the Year, Pride Network of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, Influencer of the Year and the Queer Arts & Culture Award, alongside several headline awards to be announced on the night, including Music Artist of the Year and the Gaydio Icon Award.
Reflecting on the shortlist, Kriss Herbert, Network Content Director at Gaydio, said: “Four years on, the Gaydio Awards continue to uncover the incredible work happening in communities across the UK that might otherwise go unrecognised. This year's shortlist - from volunteer organisers to pioneering charities, grassroots media to inclusive sports clubs - represents the best of what happens when the community come together to create change. We can't wait to honour our nominees on the night.”
Winners will be announced live at the ceremony on Friday, 20 March, with coverage aired shortly after on Gaydio.
