Brighton Vigil to mark Trans Day of Remembrance 2025

Trans charity Not a Phase and Trans Pride Brighton will be working together this year to bring trans communities and allies together for the Brighton Vigil to mark Trans Day of Remembrance on Thursday, 20 November. The annual event will take place at Jubilee Square, Brighton from 6.30pm-8pm.

Trans Day of Remembrance, observed annually on 20 November, is a solemn occasion dedicated to honouring the memory of trans and gender-diverse individuals whose lives were lost due to acts of anti-trans violence.

It serves as a powerful reminder of the ongoing struggles faced by trans communities worldwide, including discrimination, marginalisation, and systemic injustice. The day not only commemorates those who have died but also calls for reflection, solidarity, and action to create a safer, more inclusive society.

Writing on social media, Trans Pride Brighton said: "Even with the sombre tone TDoR brings to the community, we are so grateful to be able to cultivate a comforting and united space to be together each year. We hope our Brighton community will join us as we take time to remember trans+ lives lost."
