A new free health and wellbeing toolkit has been launched in the UK to support trans and non-binary individuals navigating an increasingly complex healthcare landscape. The resource, created by Anne, a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to gender-affirming care, aims to provide clear, practical guidance for those seeking medical support and legal protections.
The Accessing Gender Affirming Care Toolkit offers comprehensive information on healthcare pathways for trans adults, covering both NHS and private options. It addresses common challenges such as long waiting times, inconsistent GP support, and regional disparities, while also highlighting the mental health impact of delayed care. The toolkit includes letter templates for GP appointments, advice on transferring between providers, and details of legal rights.

Anne was founded in 2024 in response to growing barriers to healthcare and rising hostility towards trans communities. Co-founders Susie Green and Lizzie Jordan emphasised that the resource is about empowerment: “Trans+ people deserve to access healthcare with confidence and dignity. This toolkit equips our community with the knowledge and tools to advocate for themselves.”
The launch comes amid heightened political and social pressures, including recent legal rulings that have further complicated access to gender-affirming care. By consolidating fragmented information into one accessible guide, Anne hopes to create a trusted point of clarity for trans and non-binary people and their allies.
The toolkit is available free of charge on Anne’s official website and forms part of the organisation’s wider commitment to activism and community support. As the team behind Anne stated during Trans Awareness Week: “Visibility alone isn’t enough - it must come with action.”
