Great fun was had by all at Sussex Beacon‘s St James’s Street shop in Brighton on Saturday, July 20 when Mystic Daz (aka Daren Kay) treated an enthusiastic, adoring crowd to an exploration of the Sarsenic Sigils, created specially for his book The Brightonians Under Siege.

Having sold out on the day, there are now some extra copies of Mystic Daz’s book at the shop, so pop in and buy a copy when you can. All proceeds to Sussex Beacon.

The Sussex Beacon said: “We received a surprise visit from someone looking remarkably like Pagan Pete (and friend), Pete being the storyteller whose image adorns the book’s front cover!

“Our warmest thanks again to Daren for his amazing support, as well as to everyone who came along and made it such a fun afternoon.”

Hear Daren interviewed by Sarah Gorrell on BBC Sussex, at 12pm on Thursday, August 1.

Scene was founded in Brighton in 1993, at a time when news stories about Pride protests were considered radical.

Since then, Scene has remained proudly independent, building a platform for queer voices. Every subscription helps us to report on the stories that matter to LGBTQ+ people across the UK and beyond.

Your support funds our journalists and contributes to Pride Community Foundation’s grant-making and policy work.
