The iconic Liza Minnelli is set to appear in season 17 of RuPaul’s Drag Race.

Production company World of Wonder shared that not only will Liza be appearing on the programme, she will be receiving a special honour!

The award, which will be presented to Liza by RuPaul himself, recognises people who have made a significant impact on the world of drag and fashion.

Previous recipients include costumier and fashion designer Bob Mackie and US actress Cassandra Peterson, best known as Elvira.

During her career, Liza has received an Emmy, two Golden Globes, two Grammys, an Oscar and three Tony Awards.

The gay icon has a long history with RuPaul’s Drag Race with multiple queens paying tribute to her.

Among them are three separate ‘Snatch Game’ performances by Alexis Michelle, Hannah Conda and Scarlett BoBo.

The season finale with Liza will air on Thursday, 18 April.
