Taunton Pride in Somerset, an annual event bringing LGBTQ+ communities together, has announced this year’s event has been cancelled.

Announcing the news on social media, organisers said: “Greetings all. To confirm, Taunton Pride will not be going ahead this year. Please keep an eye on Facebook for updates on our situation.”

Taunton’s first Pride parade and festival took place in 2022. Last year, hundreds of people joined Taunton Pride’s march to celebrate LGBTQ+ communities and promote the fight for equality, rights, and self-acceptance.

Speaking in 2022, a director of Taunton Pride said: “The Pride parade will celebrate our LGBTQIA+ family, platform and empower them to hold space and showcase the beauty, diversity and intersectionalities that Taunton has to offer.”
