Hot on the heels of the critical success of Magic Still Exists and latest single BALENCIAGA COVERED EYES (featured in my column last week HERE), Mother of Spiritual Disco aka Agnes has unveiled MILK.

This second taste from her upcoming 6th studio album is a delicious, defiant concoction of pop-punk attitude and self-made swagger about creating your own destiny!

MILK sees Agnes teaming up with a powerhouse crew: Vincent Pontare (known for work with Madonna, Avicii, and Swedish House Mafia), Hannah Wilson (Tove Lo, The Chainsmokers), Kerstin Ljungström and Frans Bryngel (The Weeknd, Salvatore Ganacci) so no big deal. Agnes oozes confidence with my personal favourite and well, simply delicious lyric: “I turn milk into butter and butter into money, and with the money honey I create the life that I like". Honestly, that line is so good I’m considering getting it tattooed….or at least embroidered on a throw pillow?!

It all started with a text that resembled a chant, which then built up and became MILK. It's about a person who hungrily takes on life - someone who is guided by their inner compass, by creativity and pride.

Drawing inspiration from the fearless artistry of Róisín Murphy and the emotional minimalism of Mark Rothko, Agnes once again proves she's operating in a lane entirely her own. MILK isn’t just a bop-it’s a glossy, genre-bending flex from a pop auteur in full control of her vision.

This time, I wanted everything to be more naked and direct. Instead of building layer upon layer in the production, I wanted to let each element have its space – it should feel rawer and less polished.

MILK is on all streaming platforms now!
