Supporters of trans rights outnumbered anti-trans activists, including Kellie-Jay Keen aka Posie Parker, at a ‘Let Women Speak’ rally in Bristol yesterday (Sunday, April 13).
Around 100 anti-trans activists gathered in Bristol city centre for the ‘Let Women Speak’ rally. This group was countered by around 200 pro-trans activists from Protect Our Queer Streets, a group in support of trans communities.
Organiser Kellie-Jay Keen aka Posie Parker, known for her opposition to trans rights, was one of the speakers at the rally. The anti-trans activist is known for popularising the anti-trans slogan “adult human female”.

Keen is the founder of ‘Let Women Speak’, a group which describes themselves as a ‘global movement that creates space for women to centre women’, although they are often criticised for promoting transphobic views.
Her speech aimed criticisms at Carla Denyer, the Green MP for Bristol Central, and her advocacy for trans rights, LGBTQ+ education in Bristol schools and gender neutral toilets.
Protesters from Protect Our Queer Streets were encouraged to bring face coverings and tambourines to “show [Posie Parker] that the streets of Bristol always have been and always will be queer and trans”.
While Keen, counter-protesters chanted “Posie Parker is a fascist” and pointed out that a 2023 Let Women Speak event had been attended by Neo-Nazis.
