Stranger Things star Noah Schnapp goes public with new boyfriend three years after coming out

Noah Schnapp, best known for his role as Will Byers in Netflix’s hit series Stranger Things, has officially gone public with his new boyfriend - marking a joyful milestone three years after he came out as gay in January 2023.

The 21‑year‑old actor shared the update on his Instagram Stories on Wednesday, 1 April, posting a sweet photo of himself with his partner to celebrate their one‑month anniversary. In the image, Schnapp is seen with his arm wrapped around the back of his mystery boyfriend, who embraces him with both arms around his shoulders. He captioned the photo simply: “One month of us”, followed by a heart emoji.

While Schnapp has chosen not to reveal his boyfriend’s identity, fans across social media have celebrated the news, calling the moment “wholesome” and commending the actor for sharing part of his personal life while still maintaining privacy.

The relationship reveal comes three years after Schnapp publicly came out via TikTok, where he light‑heartedly shared that after years of fear, his friends and family reacted to the news with a simple “we know.” He also joked that he was “more similar to Will [Byers] than I thought,” referencing his character’s own sexuality, which became central to the show’s later seasons.

The actor, who recently wrapped the final season of Stranger Things at the end of 2025, has largely kept his private life out of the spotlight. His new post marks one of the first glimpses fans have had into his romantic life and signals a happy new chapter for the young star as he continues to navigate life and career post‑Hawkins.
