Remember Monday's Lauren Byrne wears ‘Protect the Dolls’ tee at Manchester gig
Lauren Byrne of country-pop trio Remember Monday stood up for trans rights last night by wearing a 'Protect the Dolls' T-shirt at the band’s Manchester show.
Worn during the group’s headline performance at Gorilla, the tee - emblazoned with the now-iconic slogan - is part of a growing movement advocating for trans rights and visibility. Designed by Conner Ives and popularised by celebrities including Pedro Pascal and Charli XCX, the shirt has become a symbol of solidarity with trans women, often affectionately referred to as “dolls” within LGBTQ+ communities.

Proceeds from the shirt’s sales go to Trans Lifeline, a trans-led charity offering emotional and financial support to trans people in crisis. As of September 2025, the campaign had raised over $600,000 for the organisation, funding microgrants and life-saving services across the United States.

The Manchester gig was part of the band’s 17-date What The Hell Just Happened? tour, named after their Eurovision 2025 entry. Despite placing 19th in the contest, the trio - Lauren, Holly-Anne Hull and Charlotte Steele - have continued to build a loyal fanbase, with their live shows praised for their vocal prowess, humour, and heartfelt storytelling.
The tour kicked off on 13 October in Cardiff and will conclude on 7 November at London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire. Along the way, the band are performing in cities including Bristol, Portsmouth, Sheffield, Newcastle, Glasgow, Liverpool, Leeds, Birmingham, Norwich and Cambridge.
