Mandy Clare, a Reform UK councillor representing Winsford Dene on Cheshire West and Chester Council, is scheduled to appear at Crewe Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 8 August. This follows her arrest on 28 June at the Winsford Pride event, where she was detained on suspicion of assault and criminal damage.
Clare, 54, who resides in Malpas, was released on bail pending her court appearance. She is currently employed in the office of Reform MP Sarah Pochin, who represents Runcorn and Helsby. However, a spokesperson for Mrs Pochin confirmed that Clare has been suspended from her role while legal proceedings are ongoing.

According to Cheshire Police, officers were called to Winsford Pride around 4.

The spokesperson stated: “On June 29, we were informed of serious allegations involving a member of staff. She was immediately suspended pending the outcome of the investigation. We maintain a zero-tolerance policy regarding any form of disorderly or inappropriate conduct. While we respect the right to due process, it is not appropriate for the individual to continue in her role at this time.”
Cheshire Police and the Crown Prosecution Service issued a joint statement emphasising the importance of a fair trial: “Criminal proceedings against Mandy Clare are active, and she is entitled to a fair hearing. We urge the public to refrain from any reporting, commentary, or online sharing of information that could compromise the integrity of the legal process.”
