Radical Trans Joy: North East charity teams up with artists to platform trans stories and amplify trans joy, pride and power

Curious Arts, a North East-based arts and youth charity championing and developing LGBTQ+ arts, artists and communities, has teamed up with four trans and non-binary artists - Mack Sproates, Ell Hockney, Rosempai and Andichrist19 - based in the region to create art that platforms trans stories and amplifies trans joy, pride and power.

The charity said: “In challenging times it's vital to celebrate joy and share the magic of our communities. We're so excited to announce the return of our Radical Trans Joy project this Pride Month.”

Curious Arts added: “All proceeds go back into further supporting trans and non-binary artists and communities in the North East and beyond.”

Support independent LGBTQ+ journalism

Scene was founded in Brighton in 1993, at a time when news stories about Pride protests were considered radical.

Since then, Scene has remained proudly independent, building a platform for queer voices. Every subscription helps us to report on the stories that matter to LGBTQ+ people across the UK and beyond.

Your support funds our journalists and contributes to Pride Community Foundation’s grant-making and policy work.
